Diamond Color Actually Means Lack of Color
The second most important aspect to focus on. A diamond should look white or colorless to the naked eye. Most diamonds have a trace of yellow or brown body color, with exception of some natural fancy colors, such as blue, pink or red. The colorless grade is the most valuable. Diamond Clarity Refers to the Absence of Inclusions and Blemishes
Clarity refers to a stones relative position on a flawless-to-perfect scale. Clarity characteristics are classified as inclusions (internal) or blemished (external).
The position of an inclusion affects how easily it can be seen. Diamond cutters make every effort to cut a stone so that inclusions are not visible through the table of the finished diamond.
The GIA diamond grading scale is divided into six categories and eleven grades
FL, IF, VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2, SI1, SI2, SI3, I1, I2, I3

Most gemmologists consider cut the most important diamond characteristic. High quality diamonds are cut to strict proportions. As a result, they are extremely bright and beautiful. If the cut on a high quality diamond is fair or poor than the diamond lacks brilliance.
